Obesity Prescribing Resources
For further information regarding the resources that support obesity prescribing pathways please select the clinical system in use at your practice.
National Resource publishing groups are used to centrally manage and safely distribute nationally approved system resources (templates, protocols, referral forms and alerts) into GP clinical systems. These resources are provided to practices and PCN's free of charge at point of use.

Key Benefits
-
Nationally approved
You can access centrally assured resources produced in line with national policy, NICE guidance and NHS England requirements, including resources already used successfully at scale and which are fully aligned to QOF.
-
Reduced practice workload
Resources are automatically delivered and updated. Practices do not need to manually import, archive or re‑import templates and forms when changes occur, significantly reducing admin overhead.
-
Consistent, standardised implementation
All practices receive the same version of a resource at the same time, reducing local variation, supporting equity, and improving the reliability of data capture in systems.
-
Improved clinical safety and governance
Resources published through national groups follow defined approval and assurance processes. Updates, corrections and safety amendments can be deployed centrally and promptly, reducing the risk associated with locally modified or outdated templates.
-
Faster response to policy and contractual change
National publishing enables rapid deployment of updates driven by changes to specifications, guidance or contractual requirements without waiting for local action at practice level.
-
Local control is retained
Activation does not remove local autonomy. Practices can still deactivate individual protocols if required and retain visibility of what is published.
